What an absolute phenomenal farm. I don't believe I have ever inspected a farm and came across the amount of deer sign as I did when walking this property. It was simply unbelievable, and you will see this in the photos. This lease is easily one of the top five farms I've been on, over the eleven years I've been doing this. The lease is made up of timber, row crops, CRP, and water.
The seclusion of some of the row crops should have the deer feeling very comfortable entering during the daylight hours, as the aerial photo will depict. The timber has great cover with underbrush and bush honeysuckle, so the deer that are traveling through or even living on this farm should feel very relaxed. I easily jumped around 10 to 15 deer and I'm sure there were some I never saw. If you are serious about harvesting a mature Illinois whitetail, do not let this farm sneak past you. There have been several nice bucks that have been harvested from this farm and neighboring farms. I have no doubt that whoever leases it, will keep for years to come.
