Here is a Franklin County Virginia Farm! The property has about 30 acres of wood. The fields are either row crop or hay fields. The row crops are rotated yearly and winter cover crops are planted if at all possible every fall. 3 creeks are present on this property. 2 tributaries and one large creek that passes through the center.
The amount of deer sign on this tract was impressive. I found trails that were warn into ditches. Several rubs, some of which were nice. I also found scrapes from the previous season along the creek bed. The way this property lays out should allow it to hunt with ease even if crops are still in the field.
The property to the southeast does not allow any hunting. The property to the northeast and west has minimal pressure, according to the landowner. So the deer should be using these wood lots to travel between the crop fields regularly. This is a nice farm in a very hard to find area! ATV use is acceptable for hunting purposes only. No camping allowed.
