This hunting lease is leased and not available. What a really nice property in a great county that is hard to get a lease in. Bedford county is known for good deer, bear, turkey and goose hunting and this farm has all four.... The property has little bit of everything, including row crops, a ton of oak trees, water, multiple permanent stands(3 tree condos and 1 ground blind) and a state stocked trout stream to boot, so bring your poles too. The property is actually 117 acres, but 13 acres have been set aside as a No tresspass/safety zone around the house and barns, it is the area outlined in yellow on the aerial map. I saw 9 deer on day of inspection, and the deer and turkey sign was abundant. I found rubs all over the farm, especially on the oak ridges, along with a ton of turkey scratches. There is an old RR bed that the deer are using as a travel corridor and bedding area between the row crops. The hayfield has a permanent ground blind and there is alot of activity in the hayfield and the oak ridge above the hayfield along the property line. The wooded hilltop on the other side of the creek is loaded with oaks, buck rubs, and 3 permanent tree stands/houses. I can share the waypoints for the stands upon leasing. You will need an ATV/UTV to cross the creek to get access to the that side of the property. I easily crossed the creek with my 4wheeler, but the creek occasionally can get high after heavy rains so please be cognizant when crossing. Responsible ATV/UTV use is allowed, and the landowner would like you to stay along the field edges of all row crop fields. The property will need to be posted, as it has never been leased before. Foodplots may be possible, but you would need to check with the farmer who leases the crop fields. Lodging is 15/20 mins away in Holidaysburg or Altoona.
