This hunting lease is leased and not available.
200 acre all legal game hunting lease in Polk County. With every step I took on this property, there was simply just a good vibe about it. When talking to the landowner prior to my inspection, he said hunting has been limited primarily to just one person for many years. He also said that many big bucks have been taken by that person during that time. Unfortunately, no pictures to represent that as previous hunter was not willing to provide those. After walking around the property, my gut told me what I was told was more likely true than not. Only found 2 stands on the property.
As you can see by the pictures in the listing, there is an active gravel pit on the property. The 200 acres listed on the lease are with the acreage containing the gravel pit, so I took that out when pricing lease. The gravel pit is used as needed. Day of inspection, which was during a weekday, there was no activity, thus I am told it is not a daily thing. You are allowed to use the road into the gravel pit and can park on northwest side as shown in pictures. This is primarily to access the area shown in blue outlined on the aerial which is contained within city limits and thus where only archery equipment can be used, but all legal game can still be harvested within in this with no other restrictions. All other areas contained within the aerial other than gravel pit and city limits you can use any legal weapon including firearms.
I really liked this property and its potential for some really good turkey and deer hunting. Better than average access throughout a good portion of the property, especially eastern half.
All legal game is yours to hunt. Remember that you can only hunt with archery equipment within the section of the property outlined in blue on the aerial on western side. Camping and food plots allowed with permission from the landowner. Respectful use of ATV for hunting related activities is also ok when weather and ground conditions permit. Your primary contact will be a friend of the landowner and who is the manager for the property. Your group will each be given a personal ID card and another ID card to put on the dash of your vehicles when at the property. Aluminum "Leased Land – No Hunting or Trespassing" signs will also be provided.
