This old golf course/ converted horse rescue facility/ converted piece of outdoor enthusiasts' paradise is going to offer you an excellent chance to harvest your next trophy whitetail.
Located just off Hwy 68, west of Ottawa, this property is an oasis surrounded by crops, with the Marais Des Cygnes River and Chippewa Hills just a mile away. The heavy woods on the eastern part of the property have always held deer, and this fall should be a great spot to harvest one of the resident deer, or a cruising buck.
The layout of the old golf course is still evident but has been fenced into different paddocks for the remaining horses. There are no horses in the timbered east part of the property, and we jumped several deer during our inspection of the property. The landowner mentioned the southwest corner is also a hot spot for the deer. He was an avid hunter in his younger years and will be a huge asset to you. The railroad tracks are the north boundary of the property.
A nice trail system throughout the property will allow for super easy access.
Equipment storage is available in the Equipment Shed.
There are several nice camping spots for those interested, and shower facilities are included in the lease.
The lodge can be rented for an additional fee.
The owner plans to allow camping on the property during the summer/ non hunting months.
