The bucks pictured in the listing are those of the landowner and taken on his properties. Appears bucks in this area genetically have a lot of mass.
The area on the aerial outlined in blue is the approximate area on the property that is not pastured. Several other areas that are not in crops have limited pasturing, but others have more regular pasturing. I would not ignore any areas with even limited timber, especially on the southern side of this property regardless of if being pastured or not. The landowner mentioned to me that they see deer all the time in these areas and my gut tells me there are numerous potential stand locations throughout the property, not just on the portion not pastured. I think during the rut, bucks are cruising through many of these areas. Once you see this property in person, I believe you will agree with me.
This is an archery deer hunting lease only. Spring turkey hunting might be allowed with permission from landowner, but he tends to work with the DNR to provide youth turkey hunting options for hunters. I understand we are already into the 2023 archery season, but at the time of this listing, the best weeks are still a month or so away and I want to stress that securing this lease in 2023 is as much about possibly having the option to renew again in 2024 as it is hunting it this fall. The landowner wants to secure all rifle deer hunting rights including any doe only seasons should DNR establish after the traditional 9-day rifle hunting season. Landowners would not hunt the youth rifle season in October. As mentioned before, he has over 1000 total acres in the general area, but they are very busy farmers and typically get only a few days to rifle hunt.
Camping is allowed for hunting-related purposes with permission from the landowner. Respectful use of ATV for hunting related purposes is also ok. No real area for food plots. The landowner would like to meet with you initially once you secure the lease.
