This hunting lease is leased and not available. Base Camp Leasing has a 46-acre hunting lease available for immediate lease in Westmoreland County, PA. This lease is part of WMU 2C and is about 20 minutes from Johnstown and Blairsville. The property is bookended to the East and West by the Conemaugh river as it makes an oxbow around it. To the North it is flanked by the Norfolk Southern mainline and spur tracks. It borders private land to the South that has an easement through the property and that owner has made significant habitat improvements for Whitetail Deer. A sizable portion of the property is swamp for parts of the year, providing massive amounts of cover and food for a variety of wildlife. During my inspection I saw a small flock of turkey moving in one of the drier areas and jumped woodcock and quail. Deer sign is everywhere on the property, with trails, rubs, scrapes, and old shed antlers sticking out of the shallow water. You will want to come prepared for some bottomland style hunting or set a tree stand above the alder and willow bushes. Access to the property by vehicle will require crossing the train tracks using the available crossings. This is a small property, but it definitely could prove to be productive.
