This hunting lease is leased and not available. Lock this up as quickly as possible. This is a good looking property in a county with no other leases offered. On the day of inspection, there was all kinds of deer and turkey sign. In addition to the sign, the landowner and I jumped a nice buck. He was moving too quickly for me to get a photo, but he was definitely a shooter. This property has a good amount of agriculture that is broken up by tree lines for some great ambush spots. There is also a larger woodlot that had a ton of sign as well as some oaks that will also keep deer on the property. To the north and far east of the property is a large wetland and the owner is ok with guys doing some waterfowl hunting as well.

Everyone knows about those big swamp bucks, right? There is no doubt in my mind there will be some good bucks cruising the swamp and this property once the rut starts. These types of properties do not come available often.

The landowner does plan to log the property AFTER hunting season. That will give you this season to see what you think and then give you an opportunity to reassess things for next year. I think this will be a great landowner to work with, too.
