Base Camp Leasing has a 396 acres hunting lease available in Herkimer County, New York. This hunting lease is less than 30 miles from Utica, New York and 75 miles from Albany. This lease is an active working dairy farm. There is approximately 190 acres of woods and cover and 200 acres of crop fields. This property is best described as a valley with a main stream that has small draws off this stream. The main stream ( bottom) is the south border of main woods on property. It runs from the east to the south-west. I recommend inspecting from access road on east border and walking east to west along north border (main woods and cover). I saw deer several times on my inspection. There was a lot of tracks and trails. There is a lot of apple trees in the woods north of main creek. I also saw fresh bear tracks (see pics). The main farm is on the south border in the middle of property. This property has several hidden crop fields. The hunting lease is sandwiched between 2 main roads on the north and south border. There is fences on part of this property that will be hot during summer and possible bow season. I talked to landowner who reported seeing deer daily in the crop fields. Camping is allowed during hunting season. Get with owner for parking spot. You can use ATV for hunting purposes only, must stay on established farm trails.
