This hunting lease is leased and not available. While walking the property, the landowner's son and I saw around 12 to 15 deer inside the timber, and we jumped up three more that were bedded in the CRP. I was surprised by the size of the rubs that I found on this farm. Plus, for only being fifty-two acres it has all the ingredients needed to harvest a mature Illinois whitetail; water, row crops, and CRP. Normally they are found on larger farms but as you can see in the photos by the size of the rubs, there is opportunity here. Do not overlook the small tracts of timber on the east and south end of this farm. It was obvious that the deer were using these timber lines to travel back and forth. This little block of timber could possibly produce a very nice buck, especially during the pre-rut and rut. The Kaskaskia River is only a 1/4 to 1/2 mile southeast of this farm, which has a history of producing mature bucks. I have several other leases less than a half mile from this one and there have been some mature bucks harvested on those farms.

*ATV use is okay only to put up, take down stands and to retrieve your harvest.

*This lease runs from 1 June through 25 January for both the Archery and Shotgun season.
