What an outstanding and proven, big buck farm located in Edgar County, Illinois! The landowners have been practicing QDMA for many years and have done a phenomenal job. This farm is made up of timber, row crops, bedding, and water...every single ingredient you need (or you would want) to grow, "hold" and harvest mature bucks! There is hardwood timber that covers the rolling hills, ridges and ravines. There is plenty of water for all wildlife as Sugar Creek is on the eastern border of the farm. There's an awesome hidden row crop field that is approximately three to four acres that is surrounded by big timber. There are deer trails coming into this field from all sides. I have no doubt that there are some very nice bucks that call this farm "home"! The secluded crop field mentioned above will make for great ambush sites for those bucks coming out to feed. With this much seclusion they will feel very comfortable in doing so. When you view the aerial photo you will see how secluded this field is! There are numerous funnel and pinch-points throughout this farm that are easily identifiable. I found several locations where I'd personally hang a stand.
The link below will provide you a snap-shot on the number of trophy bucks that are taken from Zone 6. Zone 6 has "seven" counties listed as "Top Trophy Deer Counties"! This part of Illinois has been producing some big bucks! Anyone who knows Illinois, knows exactly what Edgar County has producing year in and year out. I have no doubt whatsoever that this farm is no exception.
