Where do I start? I walked nearly two dozen farms in three days and this was by far my favorite. It is three seperate sections of timber and each of them has plenty of deer sign. The "island" of trees in the middle of the field is riddled with crossing deer trails. It was almost funny how much sign was in this area. In fact, I found my first scrape of the year on the edge of this patch of timber. Plenty of trees to get in, but a ground blind in this area would be money.
I also found a few old homemade stands in obvious areas, I always like finding those...its like a road map of where the deer have been traveling for years.
I particularly liked the small gap between larger tracts of woods. I have seen areas like this in the past and they always have deer passing through them.
The fields weren't planted this year and are serving as a giant bedding area. I kicked up at least 5 different deer on my inspection.
Access is from the south end. There is a new house that doesn't show up on the map. It sits on a small 1 acre lot. There is an access drive along the water way for the farm machinery. This is your best access.
A portion on the north end of this farm is actually in Starke County.
Take a look for yourself...its a gem of a farm.
