This hunting lease is leased and not available.
This is deer camp...and turkey camp...and smallmouth camp...and squirrel camp... or maybe its just getaway camp.
I get to walk and inspect a lot of farms and this one might be the most diverse yet. I can't think of anything that a hunter would want in a lease that this farm doesn't offer.
Deer population is extremely high and the chances of killing a big Hoosier buck are right here. The landowner would like to have a high number of does harvested as well.
Two large sections of woods are separated by crop fields. The wooded section on the south end is bordered on the south by Coal Creek. Trails run throughout that section, so picking a stand location is a breeze. With the creek bluff behind you and a north wind...they can't get downwind! They will have no choice but to parade right in front of you.
The north section of woods is a little hillier with some good draws leading to the cropfields. No doubt bedding areas just off of these fields.
Turkeys are pretty thick in this part of the state and this farm is a testimony to that. I saw several toms together when I inspected.
The farm is also equipped with a 20x20 cabin that is included in the lease. The cabin is not furnished. A couple of beds/mattresses and a table and chairs is all you will need. The cabin does have running water, hot water, a full bathroom, a kitchen area and full electricity.
There is approx. three quarters of a mile of river/creek frontage here. Anyone with a kayak or canoe, will enjoy some great smallmouth fishing all summer long.
The farm is gated and locked when you are not there. The cabin is noted as the red square on the map. It is perfectly placed so it won't effect the hunting at all.
Two hours from Chicago, an hour and a half from Champaign, an hour from Indy...if you are serious about a great lease opportunity...this is it.
