I have lived and hunted in Waupaca County all my life and can speak first hand to how difficult it is to find a hunting lease in this county. Waupaca County typically leads the state in deer harvested and is producing some real trophy class animals as well. Located between Iola and Big Falls is this 35 acre gem. Whoever leases this property can thank my wife as this has been one of my personal leases that I have only hunted a handful of times each year due to simply having too much other land to hunt. I had this lease prior to working for Base Camp, so this is the first time this property will be listed by us. The picture of myself, my father, my grandson and son's 140" class buck that was taken off this property is proof of the potential of this part of the state. The other pictures are all off my trail cameras the last year I hunted the property. If you are curious as to what the white plastic barrels are in some of the trail camera pictures, the landowner let me run 400 ft of garden hose from his house to these homemade watering tanks. The property is also loaded with turkeys and there are generally plenty of left over spring turkey tags that you can buy over the counter for this zone.
The property itself is fairly level on the northern side, then rises up to a big hard wood ridge that spans the entire southern side. On the southwestern corner is approximately 10 acres of the nastiest berry bush bedding area you will ever find. Timber is a mix spruce, birch, maple, red and white oaks. There is approximately 1 acre of the crop land on the western end of the field that is reserved for you to put in a food plot. The remainder of the field is rented out to a neighboring farmer. To top it all off, I will personally give you a tour of the land and intel from my previous years hunting this property if we can arrange a time to do so. The landowner is fairly laid back and has never hunted himself. He has always been great to work with.
All legal game is yours to hunt on this lease.
