This property is only ½ mile from the old Sunflower Ammunition Plant, an area well known for deer. The Kansas River is only two miles to the north. The owner lives on the property and is an awesome guy to deal with. We have several other leases with him and the hunters on those properties go on and on about him.
He has three ponds on the property, two of which should be excellent for fishing (shared fishing rights). And for you waterfowl guys, he says he has tons of geese in his pasture during the winter. Cattle will be on the grass part of the year, but a portion of the trees and brush on the southeast side are fenced off from them. He says he can possibly fence off some more of it, if needed. This corner would make an excellent spot for a feeder. Crops are on the neighbors to the south. Bigger woods are only 1/4 mile to the east or west.
Deer unit 19!! This means you can hunt in the Early Firearms Season, the Archery Extended Antlerless Season, and all other normal season. Access is from the north or from the east down a right-of-way driveway.
Like I said, the owner is a great guy to work with, but one of his requests is that you are not out there every single day hunting. So until a relationship is formed, he asks that deer hunting be limited to 14 days per year.
