This hunting lease is leased and not available.
Over 4.5 miles of creek runs through or along this property, breaking it up into twelve different fields! And we all know what lives in the creek bottoms - deer and turkey. The proof was definitely there on this lease, as we found countless deer rubs and turkey feathers from one side to the other. The owner even almost got run over by a deer while we were touring the property on ATV's.
This creek, which happens to be called Turkey Creek, is surrounded by crops, including about 50 acres of alfalfa in different fields. All of the bends in the creek make for some good looking hidden feeding spots, as well as some excellent bedding cover in the wastelands. This property looks a lot better in person than is does in the aerial. The owner says the property hasn't been hunted in years, so pressure should be minimal.
An old farmyard in the middle of the property will make a great location to set up your camp. Water is available, but electricity will be unreliable. Lodging can also be found in Abilene, which is only 15 miles to the north. The owner lives across the road to the east.
Cattle are on the small middle pasture during the summer, and on a small part of the crop ground during the winter. However, they are fenced off from the creek and woods along the creek.
And don't forget about the fishing and bird hunting. There are some good looking holes in the creek that should be good for catfish and maybe even some bow fishing. We also kicked up a couple of pheasants, as this farm looks ideal birds as well.
