This hunting lease is leased and not available. Base Camp Leasing has a 58 acre hunting lease available in Madison County, New York. This property is approximately 20 miles south of Utica. The property consists of 27 acres of Wetland and 31 acres of a combination of pasture and organic crop fields. The wetland is in a DEC wetland program. Five different ponds have been dug in the wetlands to attract ducks and geese. The landowner daily sees 7-9 deer in the field behind the barn as well as turkeys. He stated he has seen up to 20 deer in the field at one time. The area around the swamp was loaded with deer sign (tracks, droppings and rubs). This property would be perfect for someone who wants to harvest a couple deer and shoot waterfowl. The west boundary is marked with red flagging tape, and I saw several of the neighbors posted signs. There are active beavers in the swamp. The owner also would allow you to trap. There will not be a lot of room to deer hunt on this property, but the 2 or 3 spots where you can put stands will definitely be hot spots based on the sign. Camping and ATV use is allowed for hunting purposes only. Stay on established farm trails with ATV and close any gates you might go through.
