Are you tired of hunting State land in Southern Ohio? Then, this just may be the property for you. This property is 270 acres of all woods consisting of hills, points, benches, saddles, creeks and beautiful rock formations. This property was last logged in 1982 and is now a beautiful section of woods for a larger group. I found good deer sign, and you should have plenty of turkeys too.
This property is perfect for a group willing to do a little work, as landowner would like someone long term. Landowner is willing to allow you to put up posts and cables, or gates, at the two access points, which I would recommend. You can see where locals have been dumping some old tires and other junk near the entrance to the property. Rear property lines are not marked, but I walked for 1.5 hours and never left the property. If you keep the property long term you may be able to work something out with the landowner to get it surveyed. With just a little clean up you should be able to use the old logging trails with your ATV for good access. ATV use OK for hunting purposes only and are recommended here.
You should be covered up with bucks during the rut cruising the benches and saddles. Gun season should be a hoot as well. A little late season feeding should get your last members their buck for the year if they have not tagged out. Once you get back a ways from the road you feel like you are in a wilderness, and you cannot hear anything but the wildlife. Landowner lives only 5 minutes away. Nice place to camp by the road… and if you like to primitive camp there are a bunch of beautiful spots back in. Respectful ATV use for hunting purposes only.
