What a great looking farm!
Located less than 30 minutes from Wichita, this farm looks to be a deer hunter's paradise. Smoots Creek dissects the property from the north end to the southeast.
This quarter is a beautiful mess, and in areas, very rough and wild. North and east of the creek is a ten-acre swampy area bordered by mature hardwoods and mixed cedars. I predict this where those swamp donkeys spend a good portion of their lives. South and west of the creek is pure wilderness as well, being overgrown with head high weeds in areas. The rest is scattered trees and brush, along with a few rolling hills. Crops are on the southern part of this piece, and also on the neighbors to the west. Acre for acre, you will be hard pressed to find better deer habitat anywhere!
Cattle will graze on the property part of the year. But, to be honest with you, it didn't seem like they had much of an impact on the habitat.
Highway 54 is the north border of the property, and there is a long bridge in which the critters can travel underneath to get back and forth.
This farm is located Deer unit 15!!! This unit is traditionally one of the easiest to get deer tags, as they almost always have leftover tags.
