If you want to shoot a whopper buck in northeastern Kansas, then this may be your spot! This Nemaha County farm has a lot of diversity, edges, hidden nooks and will be good in any wind. The wooded creek bottom that dissects the property from NW to the SE basically splits the property in half, and has created some incredible deer and turkey habitat as is has shaped the terrain. The balance of the property is in crops, with the SW corner featuring a very inviting lane and meadow that gets put up to hay each year. For those with a keen eye, you may have noticed that 3 ½ acre cedar patch inside the woods on the west side. I can only imagine what kind of creatures are hiding out in there!
I jumped four deer during my inspection around the edges of the property. One of them was an old looking 10 pointer. I'm sure I would have jumped more if I had really gotten deep into the cover, but I always avoid being too intrusive during the fall, as I don't want to disturb the deer anymore than necessary.
No cattle will be on this property.
