This hunting lease is leased and not available.
This farm is thick and gnarly, but boasts a ton of deer sign! The property is made up of, timber, row crops, and bedding. The landowner had this farm timbered approximately five years ago. The only timber that was harvested were trees that were 20 inches and up. It's very clear, the timber harvest has greatly improved this farms habitat. Because of the harvest, this tract is now thick and providing the deer a ton of cover. The landowner has maintained the old logging roads, which gives you the ability to quietly sneak in out of your stand. The farm is currently planted in winter wheat. Once the wheat is harvested, beans/corn will be sown in the next day (weather permitting).
I started my inspection on the south end and worked my way around, where I found an abundant of deer tracks, deer trails, rubs, and old scrapes. There are some spots on this farm that are so thick, you will not be able to walk through it. There's no doubt the deer are bedding in these thickets and will feel very safe when traveling through. These areas will work out great during the pre-rut/rut, when the bucks are cruising and looking for that hot doe, because more than likely they will be laying in these thickets.
Upon speaking to the landowner's son, the first two bucks you see in the photos, is a buck that's well known in the neighborhood and is supposedly still roaming the timber. He stated, to his knowledge, he has not heard of anyone in the area harvesting this brute, but rather only getting trail cam pictures of him. The second trail cam picture is from this past year. This farm is going to make someone a very nice lease!!
