This hunting lease is leased and not available.
Sitting right on the Sangamon River, in Menard County, lies a farm that has everything the serious hunter looks for. More importantly, it has a proven history of producing mature bucks, year after year. The aerial photo does not do this farm justice. However, mature bucks run those river bottoms and live on this farm. The property is made up of timber, row crops, CRP, water, and bedding. One simply cannot ask for more, especially where the farm lies within the County. While walking the farm, the landowner and I jumped up several deer. The north side of the farm, along the river, is mixed with timber, row crops and CRP and the deer are definitely using it. There is an elevated box blind that also sits along the timbers edge of the CRP that was strategically placed by landowner, who no longer hunts. I found several nice stand locations and a couple places for a food plot. The landowner will allow food plots, however you will need to coordinate with him, where these food plots can be planted. Beware food plots cannot be planted on the CRP filter strips. The landowner also has the Cudde-Link system set up on his farm for security purposes, which is where some of these trail cam photos come from. Most, if not all of these bucks are still on the farm. One last thing, the landowner has a very nice trail system, in order to navigate around this farm. You can easily sneak in and out of your stand. Again, if you are a serious hunter and want the opportunity to harvest a mature Illinois buck, this is a farm that will provide you that opportunity.
