This hunting lease is leased and not available.
If I could drop a few pins on an Ohio map of where I thought the best trophy buck hunting is… this area would be one of them. This great property is just outside the foothills in Ross County close to the Highland County line. You can see from the giant rubs in the pictures that your chance for a buck of a lifetime is good here. This property has about 20 acres of points and fingers that jut out into the rest of the farm, which is in all head high CRP, and is in the 10-year program which started in 2018. This property is 100% cover. The property has a nice roll to it and your set-ups should not been seen from the road. Also, there is plenty of connecting cover so deer should travel through all the time.
Almost every farm I know of where a 200-class deer was killed, or known of, had CRP ground in the area. Giant bucks love CRP for security cover when the pressure is on, and thermal cover in the winter. This farm is no different. The landowner mows all along the woods, so access is great. Also, you have access from many directions so you can play the wind. The landowner lives on site so he will keep an eye on things. Furthermore, he is a good guy and should be great to work with.
There are plenty of places for stands where you can hunt different deer groups. The ravines are deep, so the deer crossings are easily defined. The rut should be crazy here, and the gun season should really produce. Late season should be incredible if you have a food source for the deer. Respectful ATV use for hunting purposes only. No real turkeys here. Greenfield is only minutes away and should have most of what you need. Also, Chillicothe and Washington Courthouse are not that far. This may be the best potential trophy buck property that I listed this year.
