Here's a nice little farm being offered for lease in Iroquois County, Illinois. This tract is made up of, timber, row crops, CRP, bedding, and water. With the timber being thick with bush honeysuckle, the deer are clearly using it to travel to the surrounding row crops. As you will see in the photos, there were numerous deer trails throughout the farm. I jumped up deer, but have no idea how many, just saw a white tail and heard them taking off out in front of me. The underbrush was just too thick to see. There's a couple of nice areas on this farm that would make for a great ground blind set or even an elevated box blind. Along the east side of the farm there is a canal that's holding water. I found numerous deer trails coming in and out of this area. Plus, with this property having a pond, there is plenty of water for the deer, especially during the pre-rut/rut. With the timber being very scarce in this section of Iroquois County, the deer have no options, but to use this farm. Just a note; you will see in the photos a couple of old, homemade deer stands. Do not use them, they are not safe, and I have no idea how long they have been there. Request the driving directions and permission slip and give this farm a look. I believe, you'll like what you see!
