The pictures truly highlight the incredible potential of this farm. When I walked the property, the deer sign was abundant throughout. I could have easily shared 15 or more photos of rubs and well-worn deer trails. The thick underbrush, primarily bush honeysuckle, on the west side of the farm provides excellent cover, allowing deer to feel secure as they travel through. This dense underbrush could even serve as a sanctuary.
Within just 10 minutes of being on the property, I discovered a nice shed. The buck that dropped this shed was likely in the low 130s but shows great potential for the upcoming season. Additionally, don't overlook the southeast corner draw, especially during the pre-rut and rut phases, it could be a key travel corridor.
Last year, the property underwent a select timber harvest of 30 walnut trees, which will more than likely improve the overall habitat. The pictures of the timber show that this farm could have used a select cut. Another plus, the farmer lives right next to the property and keeps a close watch over it.
