I have a new favorite lease here Kansas. This is an outstanding, all around great property that has everything a guy could want! From the excellent trophy deer and turkey potential, to the million-dollar views overlooking the Flint Hills and the town of Alma. This is a property you will want to utilize year-round. Plus, it seems like every year I hear of a 200" buck being harvested in this area!
As you can tell from the aerial pictures and topographical map, this property has a ton of diversity. It features the South Branch of Mill Creek, crops and woodlots along the western edge of the property, and grass covered rocky slopes along with the deep wooded draws that are typical of the Kansas Flint Hills on the eastern part of the property.
Deer and turkey seemed to be very plentiful in the expected areas of the property. During my inspection, I saw no less than twenty deer and heard three separate turkeys gobbling. Ducks and geese were on the creek, which has several picturesque small waterfalls and holes to catch some fish in.
The driveway into the property on the south side is located less than one mile off the blacktop highway, so you shouldn't need to get your pickup too dirty.
The grass will be burned every spring, so keep that in mind if you are planning on leaving equipment on the property.
Cattle will be on this property part of the year- usually out by early August.
The owner asks that vehicular traffic be kept to the established trails in the pasture, and more specifically RESPECTFUL ATV USE ONLY IN THE NORTH PASTURE AND FOR HUNTING PURPOSES ONLY.
