Tony has called southwest Arkansas home for most of his life and currently resides in Nashville, Arkansas. He received a degree in Biology from Henderson State University and has spent the past two decades working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is the proud father of a junior high cheerleader and on most Thursday and Friday nights he can be found in the stands of a football game cheering her on.
Growing up hunting was just a way of life for the Porter family that was passed down through the generations. This way of life has certainly continued down to his daughter as she can always be found in a deer stand somewhere opening weekend of season. Tony has been blessed to be a member of the same Arkansas hunting lease for over 40 years. This is only possible because of the relationship that was established over 60 years ago between a family of cattle farmers and a family of hunters. It is Tony’s desire to identify Arkansas land for lease and hopefully make a connection with landowners and hunters that could last a lifetime just like his.
Bow hunting is Tony’s passion without question but living in a state with such diversity provides an abundance of other hunting opportunities. Once the bucks have stopped chasing, you can typically find Tony wading in a swamp somewhere at five in the morning waiting for shooting hours. After a short break in February, it’s time to fill the boat with some slab crappie and chase an ol’gobbling Tom down in the bottoms.
