Ty was born and raised in southern Michigan. He began hunting small game with his father and brother after receiving a shotgun for Christmas when he was 12. A short time later Ty took up archery. He started out with his dadís recurve bow before changing over to a compound bow. Ty was 15 years old when he took his first deer. After that he was hooked on hunting. While Ty has continued to hunt mostly in Washtenaw and Lenawee Counties in South Eastern Michigan, he has also hunted deer in Ohio, antelope in Wyoming, and black bear in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Manitoba. Tyís favorite weapon of choice is a handgun. He has successfully taken several deer and a black bear with a handgun.
Ty is a retired police sergeant after working 30 years in law enforcement. He loves spending time with his kids in the outdoors teaching them about hunting and conservation. Ty also has a pointing lab named Ruger that he enjoys spending time with in the fields. When Ty isnít spending time at his childrenís events, he is usually hunting, thinking about hunting, or scouting and checking trail cameras.
