Just a 30-minute drive south of Des Moines is this 353-acres containing hilltop row crop fields, spring fed and drainage filled ponds, MANY pockets thick with bedding areas, patches of hillside woods, CRP grass, and a creek bottom. Besides everything I just described, there are some very large parcels of woods neighboring this 350-acres with plenty of travel sign going back and forth. Access from the east, south, and west with field entrances and some pathways that can lead closer to selected hunting spots. This place is loaded with vantage points and will be a blast watch over the habitat, a hunter can learn a lot about deer movement here.
Deer sign was everywhere as I inspected, buck rubs, scrapes, heavily traveled trails, and a bunch of white flags going away from me. No dead heads found on this one which I thought was a good sign, healthy deer in these parts.
If you want to talk about this place, give me a call and I'll tell you where the sheds I found and other bucks bedrooms are.
This is a working farm that may have cattle in different parts at times. There is limited access to this hunting lease out of deer and turkey season dates, call and get landowner approval in the off season for access.
