Consisting of almost a square mile, this 542-acre hunting lease draws game in for a number of reasons. There is an abundant food source; the terrace crop fields provide seclusion and thermals for deer to feed during the coldest parts of the year. There are ponds and drainage here as well, providing a significant water source. The larger pond feeds a winding stream that is full of cover. You can find deer, pheasant, and quail in the wooded draw habitat. The landowner says he will spot bucks bedding on the terraces, looking out over the stream below. I found deer trails, tracks, and signs of rut activity along the wooded stream; bucks will be cruising these draws during the rut.

In the northwest corner of the property, there is a nice patch of CRP that will make a good spot to kick up a couple of roosters. Additionally, there is a major deer trail crossing that same CRP area, heading over the hill to the crop fields.
