This property is undoubtedly a premier five-star hunting farm located just south of Albia, Iowa, within Zone 5. The area is renowned for the frequent harvesting of large whitetails, and during my visit to the farm, I sensed that significant deer are present in the vicinity. In 2024, the farm will feature a rotation of soybeans and corn across its rolling hills. The evidence of deer activity was particularly notable on the day of my inspection, especially near a concealed watering hole nestled among the crops (refer to the accompanying picture reel). Setting up a ground blind on October 1st at this watering hole would provide an excellent opportunity for any large deer seeking a midday drink. According to the landowner, deer of 160 class are commonly sighted on this property, indicating that a true trophy could appear at any moment. The combination of rolling crop fields and wooded areas offers significant concealment from human observation. I could have easily spent the entire day exploring this farm; however, it was still early in the season, and the rubs and scrapes had yet to emerge. If I had the necessary preference points, this farm would certainly be included in my hunting database.
